The resort was created by family for family - the current owners, David and Randi LaBar, inherited the property from David’s parents Frank and Sandy, who inherited it from his parents Charles and Eleanor, and they’ve been faithful to preserve his vision of a peaceful retreat that would serve generations to come.  

The youngest of three sons, Charles set out to transform the beautiful wooded property into a haven of rest and relaxation that also offered plenty of opportunity for adventure and discovery.  

In 1934, Charles hand-cut the timber for the first cabins himself, and his trusty Belgian horse helped haul the wood to the perfect locations. With one new hand-hewn cabin built every few years, the resort soon became the destination of choice for families looking to unwind, explore, and reconnect.  

As you enter the property by way of a picturesque drive lined with sugar maples, you’ll feel how Charles’ vision has been carried into reality by The LaBar's, who reside on-site and make sure each guest is treated like a treasured family member.
